Hui ‘0 Kamalei first opened its doors on August 1st, 1976 which is now located in the Makiki/Waikiki area. It is basically a Polynesian dance school teaching Hula, Tahitian, Samoan and Maori for ages 3 to 103.
Hui ‘0 Kamalei is a Christian Halau using our God-given talent to promote our Hawaiian culture, as well as our Polynesian lifestyle.
We now have two Halau in Nagoya, Japan – Hui ‘0 Kamalei Kiele by Fumiyo Uilani Sakurai, and Hui ‘0 Kamalei Pikake by Kazuko Kawamura under the direction and teaching of Hui ‘0 Kamalei in Honolulu, as well as other teachers in Japan and in the U.S.
